All the details you love
What age is the Sobabu Swaddle Wrap suitable for?
Our swaddle wrap is designed for newborns up to ~4–5 months, or until your baby shows signs of rolling over. After that, we recommend moving to the Sobabu Transitional Sleepsack for safer arms-out sleep.
Why is swaddling important?
Swaddling provides a snug, womb-like comfort that reduces the startle (moro) reflex, helping babies sleep longer and more peacefully. It also prevents loose blankets, which can be unsafe during sleep.
How is the Sobabu Swaddle Wrap different from traditional cloth swaddles?
Unlike loose swaddling cloths, our design uses baby-soft hook-and-loop closures for a secure fit without complicated folding. The Cotton Lycra blend gives gentle stretch while staying breathable — perfect for Indian weather.
Is the fabric safe for my baby’s skin?
Yes. Our swaddle is made from premium 220 GSM Cotton Lycra, chosen for softness, breathability, and durability. It gets softer with every wash and is gentle on delicate newborn skin.
Will my baby overheat in this swaddle?
No. The fabric is breathable and designed for India’s climate. Always dress your baby appropriately underneath (refer to our “How to Dress Your Baby” guide). Check your baby’s neck or chest — warm and dry is perfect.
Can I use a blanket over the swaddle?
No. The swaddle wrap is the only outer layer your baby needs. Adding blankets increases the risk of unsafe sleep.
How do I wash and care for the swaddle?
• Wash before first use
• Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
• Use mild detergent, no bleach
• Tumble dry low or line dry
•Do not iron directly on labels or fasteners
How many swaddle wraps do I need?
We recommend at least 2–3 wraps — so you always have a clean one ready during washes, spit-ups, or diaper leaks.
What if my baby doesn’t like swaddling?
Some babies take a few nights to adjust. Try swaddling with one arm out to give them more freedom. If your baby continues to resist or starts showing signs of rolling, it may be time to move to our Transitional Sleepsack.
