The Sobabu Transitional Sleepsack with angel wings is the only outer layer your baby needs — no blankets required. Adjust inside clothing by room temperature:
• 28°C+ (Hot nights): Just a diaper or sleeveless vest (baniyan) inside
• 24–27°C (Warm nights): A short-sleeved light cotton romper (half-pant style) inside
• 20–23°C (Cooler AC nights): A long-sleeved light cotton romper (half-pant style) inside
• <20°C (Strong AC / Cold regions): A full-length romper/night suit (covers arms & legs, with or without feet)
💡 Tip: The angel wings provide snugness, so never add a blanket. Check your baby’s neck/chest — warm and dry is just right.

All the details you love
What is a transitional sleepsack?
A transitional sleepsack is the bridge between swaddles and classic sleepsacks. It provides a snug torso fit with more room around the arms and legs, giving babies both comfort and freedom.
When can I start using it?
You can start as early as 5 weeks, or anytime your baby shows signs of wanting more movement. It’s also a great choice for babies who resist the snugness of swaddling right from the start.
How is it different from a swaddle?
While the Sobabu Swaddle Wrap offers a snug, womb-like feel and even allows one arm out at a time, the Transitional Sleepsack is roomier. It gives babies more space for motor skill development, like stretching and self-soothing, while still keeping them secure for safe sleep.
What if my baby doesn’t like swaddling?
Some babies prefer the gentle snugness of a swaddle, while others sleep better with more freedom. For those babies, the transitional sleepsack is a safe alternative right from the beginning — no blankets needed.
How long can my baby use it?
The transitional sleepsack is designed for 0–6 months, or until your baby is fully comfortable with arms-out sleep. After that, we recommend moving to the Sobabu Classic Sleepsack.
What fabric is it made of?
It’s made with our SkinSoft™ Bamboo Cotton blend — breathable, soft, and perfect for India’s all-season climate.
Will my baby overheat?
No. The fabric is designed for Indian weather. Just adjust what your baby wears inside based on room temperature (see our guide).
Can I add a blanket on top?
No. The sleepsack itself is a safe blanket replacement. Adding blankets can increase the risk of unsafe sleep.
Is my sleepsack machine washable?
Yes! It is
How do I wash and care for it?
- Wash before first use
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle
- Use mild detergent, no bleach
- Tumble dry low or line dry
How many do I need?
We recommend at least 2, so one is always clean and ready during frequent baby changes.
